Bengal Surgical Sterile Rolled Gauze Bandage for Pets | 4 inch & 6 inch
Single-use sterile dressing — do not use if the wrapper is torn, wet, or already opened, and discard any remainder after use. Bandaging a pet is easy to get badly wrong: a wrap that is too tight cuts off circulation and can cost a limb within hours. Apply firmly but never tightly, keep even pressure, and leave the two middle toes exposed on a leg bandage so you can check them. Check the toes several times a day — swelling, coldness, a bad smell, chewing at the bandage, or a foot that has gone puffy means take the bandage off at once and see a veterinarian. Do not leave a bandage on longer than your veterinarian advises. Keep it completely dry, covering it with a bag for toilet trips and removing the bag straight after, since a wet bandage macerates the skin underneath. A gauze roll is the absorbent layer of a dressing and is not a treatment: deep, gaping, bleeding, bite, or puncture wounds, anything with pus or a smell, and anything that has not improved in a couple of days all need veterinary attention. For heavy bleeding, apply firm pressure and go to a veterinarian immediately. Store sealed in a clean, dry place.
Bengal Surgical Sterile Rolled Gauze Bandage for Pets | 4 inch & 6 inch
A sterile, highly absorbent cotton gauze roll for dressing wounds and for everyday first aid, available in 4 inch and 6 inch widths. Gauze does the quiet work in any dressing: laid over a cleaned wound it absorbs exudate, keeps the surface from drying out or sticking to the outer wrap, and gives the wound a clean interface to heal against. Its open weave also lets air move, and it conforms to awkward shapes like a paw, a hock, or a tail base far better than a rigid pad. Two widths let you match the bandage to the patient, with 4 inch for smaller pets, limbs, and paws, and 6 inch for larger dogs and body wraps.
