Drools CoatGlow Medicated Shampoo for Dogs & Cats | 200ml
For external use only — do not let your pet drink the shampoo or the bath water. Keep it out of the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, and rinse immediately with clean water if any gets into an eye. Do not apply to deep or open wounds. Rinse the coat thoroughly, because residue left in the fur irritates skin and gets licked off, and take particular care with cats, which groom until every trace is gone. Try a small patch first if your pet has reacted to a product before, and stop use if the skin becomes red, more itchy, or sore. A skin problem that keeps coming back needs a diagnosis, not just a different shampoo. Persistent itching, hair loss, scabs, a strong smell, or thickened skin can mean parasites, allergy, or a deeper infection, and those need veterinary treatment — tell your veterinarian you are using a medicated shampoo, and do not use it alongside other topical treatments without asking. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Drools CoatGlow Medicated Shampoo for Dogs & Cats | 200ml
CoatGlow is a hypoallergenic, keratoplastic, and antiseptic medicated shampoo for dogs and cats, built around 10% ethyl lactate and formulated for skin that is dry, scaly, flaky, or greasy. Medicated shampoos are unusual among topical treatments in that contact time matters more than quantity: the lather has to sit on the skin for several minutes to do anything at all, which is why a quick wash and rinse gets blamed on the product when the technique was the problem. Ethyl lactate is also a genuinely clever choice for greasy, infected skin, because it is lipid-soluble and penetrates into the sebaceous follicle rather than just rinsing over the surface. Regular use leaves the coat clean, soft, and glossy while supporting the skin underneath it.
Composition
- Each ml contains ethyl lactate 10% w/v in a shampoo base q.s.
How Ethyl Lactate Works
- Being lipid-soluble, it passes into the sebaceous follicle where greasy skin problems and bacteria actually live.
- There it is broken down into lactic acid and ethanol, lowering the local pH.
- The acidic environment is hostile to the bacteria that colonise inflamed skin, which is the basis of its antiseptic action.
- The keratoplastic effect helps normalise the skin's surface turnover, easing scale and flaking.
- The moisturising base helps counter the drying that many medicated washes cause.
